Chicago Man Picked Up for Galesburg Homicide

A Chicago man, wanted in connection with the murder of a Galesburg man last week, was arrested Monday in Lake in the Hills, Illinois by U S Marshalls Violent Fugitive Task Force on a Knox County warrant of murder and unlawful possession of a weapon by felon. The arrest of Christopher L. Croom was the result of an incident on August 13th in which Melvin G. Buckner died of his stabbing injuries. Police say the fatal incident happened in the 500 block of West Brooks .
