The City of Washington is receiving more funds from the state to make repairs in tornado damaged areas.
The six and a half million dollars stems from Governor Quinn’s $45 million state aid announcement.
It comes specifically from the Illinois Department of Transportation and will be used to repair everything from sidewalks to curbs and gutters on city-owned property.
It will fix anything damaged as a result of the storm or clean-up after.
Mayor, Gary Manier says he’s happy the city is receiving the money and it’s just about what the city asked for.
