With cancer rates projected to rise about 7 percent annually, community cancer center officials saw the need to expand. It has been working to double its square footage.
And now one year into the project, they have a solid foundation in place and new rooms for patients and clinics.
"Seeing the carpet going in this week is a real cool sign and also seeing the concrete being poured out here for the parking lot. So, very, very exciting times right now for the Community Cancer Center,” said Joe Prosser, Cancer Center Executive Director.
Once the remodeled wing is finished later next month, the main entrance will be closed off for its own renovations. Right now, the center serves about 220 patients a day from 11 different counties.
