A Chicago federal judge Thursday delayed a decision on a request by State Treasurer Dan Rutherford to throw out a lawsuit against him, according to the Chicago Tribune. During a Thursday hearing, a lawyer for the plaintiff sought a month to respond to Rutherford's request to dismiss the case. Edmund Michalowski accused Rutherford earlier this year of sexual harassment and making him perform political work on state time. Rutherford has denied those claims. The lawsuit was filed in the middle of the primary campaign for the Republican nomination for governor.
