BLOOMINGTON- What may be surprising to students is that even teachers can have first day jitters.

That's why District 87 held its second annual Teacher's Academy at Bloomington High School on Monday.

Teachers from across the District participated in a variety of seminars on new technology and instructional classroom strategies.

The all day event served as a refresher course for teachers to brush up on the latest information and prepare them for the upcoming school year.

"Well, we've got great things on assisted technology for our special education department, applications for I-pads, and one to one initiative for our computers for our students that are having that one to one, which is very, very well received," said Leslie Hanson, Director of Special Education.

The Academy is put on by "Teachers for Teachers" and serves as a great way for faculty to learn from fellow colleagues.
