A new fire suppression rating for East Peoria could see insurance premiums for home and business owners go down.
The insurance services office rated East Peoria as a class three when it comes to the cities public protection classification.
The rating dropped to the class three level from the previously held class five.
The assessment looked into the local fire departments preparedness, as well as the water supply operations throughout the city.
Nationally, most communities are rated at a class nine level.
