BLOOMINGTON - A Bloomington alderman won't be completing his term in office.

Ward Eight city council member Rob Fazzini is resigning from his office. Fazzini had already hinted he wasn't going to seek re-election and says he couldn't work for the city while continuing to work with Paradigm BioAviation on a jet fuel project.

He says he has no regrets about his three plus years in office and is proud of the work to improve the roads and city pension systems.

"It's been fun, it's been frustrating. Going to meetings and getting things done, but in a democracy, it's messy. I don't like that, it's not in my nature but I've learned to accept that that's how you have to get things done in a democracy,” said Fazzini.

Fazzini’s resignation is effective Sept. 3. The city will be accepting applications to fill Fazzini's seat through Sept. 9. The term expires in 2015.
