SPRINGFIELD - Millions of Illinois residents rely on propane gas to heat their homes and a shortage of propane continues to be a problem.
Today, Governor Quinn announced additional support for people during this time.
He says some financial assistance will be available for families trying to keep up with the increased heating costs this winter.
He's also looking at ways for propane to be transported to the state as quickly and economically as possible.
The governor is warning of businesses looking to take advantage of customers during this propane emergency.
If you experience any fraud, you should alert the Illinois Attorney General's office.
