GALESBURG - Galesburg residents have a lot to look forward to when it comes to fun outdoors, thanks to a grant from the state.

The city is slated to receive a $332,000 grant from the state to help overhaul Rotary Park. Projects include a new trail, playground, water park and ice rink.

"Should be great for children and for adults, too. I know some of the people in the area look for places to walk, and so this trail around the park will be a good place to get some exercise," said public works director, Larry Cox.

The grant is part of a matching program. Galesburg has already raised its fifty percent of the deal through private donations.
