Negotiations began at 2 Tuesday afternoon and continued well into the night.
It’s been fourteen days since Galesburg teachers set out to strike.
The Galesburg Education Association and School Board were stuck on the point of teacher evaluations.
G.E.A negotiators are trying to, in their words, make sure teachers are evaluated fairly.
According to the G.E.A., they need to make sure good educators are kept, regardless of their cost.
The strike has pushed back the school start date in Galesburg indefinitely, affecting everything from athletics to the length of this school year.
Throughout the process, both the teachers union and the school board have stressed the importance of getting kids back in school as soon as possible.
