DUNLAP - The Peoria German-American Society brought a part of its culture from the old country to the Peoria area Sunday.

It hosted its annual Bratfest at Hickory Grove Park.

It is considered a traditional German picnic that was commonly held on Sundays in Germany.

People could sample different German food, enjoy German music, and check out different hot rods at a cruis'n.

Jeff Pulfer of the Peoria German-American Society said, "German picnics on Sunday were basically a tradition from Germany, over to here, and we've help kept maintaining that type of tradition ever since we got started out here."

The money raised will go toward services provided by the Peoria German-American Society.
