The American Red Cross is hoping for a hole in one with donations this year.
The Central Illinois Chapter held its annual “Golf Fore the Red Cross Outing” this afternoon.
More than 100 golfers came swinging to the event.
Last year’s golf outing raised about $30,000.
The Red Cross is hoping to raise $40,000 this year.
The money will ensure the Red Cross can remain efficient in its life-saving efforts.
“Whether it's connecting a military family that's in a crisis or teaching children how to live healthier and safer, training someone to save a life or responding to a house fire in the middle of the night. All the money will go to making sure we're able to do that,” said Erin Miller, Red Cross.
This is the fourth year for the golf outing.
