Governor Signs Several Bills

Governor Quinn signed several laws Friday including a bill allowing the Illinois Secretary of State to grant a wavier for a lapse in the renewal of a driver's license in excess of 30 days for certain drivers, including religious organization bus drivers and senior citizens transportation drivers; also another bill providing for criminal penalties for firearms instructors who knowingly falsify training certifications for concealed carry license applicants; and another bill expanding the law to allow DNA testing related to convictions based on guilty pleas by individuals in cases where such testing of relevant evidence was not available at the time of the guilty plea.
