A hawk in Woodford County has tested positive for the West Nile virus near Secor, according to a release Wednesday from the Woodford County Health Department. Surveillance mosquito traps have been set throughout the county and will continue until October of 2014. All mosquito traps surveillance trials have tested negative for West Nile virus in 2014. The West Nile is transmitted through the bite of a mosquito that has picked up the virus by feeding on an infected bird.
