Heat is partially blamed for the death of a rural Gridley man. Preliminary autopsy results released Thursday afternoon indicate 55 year old Ronald Guess had an enlarged heart, severe emphysema and was exposed to extreme outdoor heat. His body was found on his property Wednesday afternoon. Guess was last seen last Saturday. It's believed Guess had been outside for 24 to 36 hours and his exact cause of death will be pending toxicology tests. However, there was no sign of blunt force trauma, tire marks or crushing injury to him.
