The race began and ended just outside of the Running Central building on Water St.
Many runners said they came out to have some fun and weren't worried about their times. The special race allows participants the chance to run across both the Bob Michel and Cedar Street Bridges.
"It really ties the Peoria and East Peoria community together,” said Adam White, owner of Running Central. “There's no other race that really engages and activates both sides of the river in this capacity. So that in itself is a really unique factor.”
About 600 people took part in this year’s race. The race is organized by the Illinois Valley Striders.
