PEORIA - WMBD 31 and the Peoria Chiefs are pleased to announce the inaugural Challenge. This high school baseball tournament will feature some of the top local teams from the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area. It’s all about bragging rights as teams from the west (Peoria area) meet the teams from the east (Bloomington/Normal area) at Dozer Park.

The idea behind the Challenge originated with IVC Head Baseball Coach Jerry Rashid.

The challenge will be held on Thursday, May 8th; Friday, May 9th; and Saturday, May 10th at Dozer Park in Peoria.
A portion of the proceeds generated from the games will go to Easter Seals of Central Illinois.

Here’s the line-up of games:

Thursday, May 8th
5:00PM - Olympia HS vs. Washington HS
7:30PM - Normal Community HS vs. Metamora HS

Friday, May 9th
5:00PM – Bloomington HS vs. Peoria Notre Dame HS
7:30PM – Normal West HS vs. Limestone HS

Saturday, May 10th
7:00PM – University HS vs. Illinois Valley Central (IVC) HS

Tickets can be purchased for $4.00 at the high schools. Those tickets are good for all three days. You can also purchase single day tickets at Dozer Park for $5.00. Concession stands at Dozer park will be open so everyone can come on out for a great three nights of high school baseball in central Illinois.
