Intermittent Lane Closures (UPDATE)

Intermittent lane closures for patching work will begin Wednesday, August 20th on Route 29 between Fischer Road in Creve Coeur and Camp Street in East Peoria. This will continue for about three weeks. Patching work/lane closures on Business 24 in Washington between Cummings Lane and Zinser Place will take about three weeks to complete. Meantime, the left lane of westbound I 74 between Morton Avenue and I 155 will be CLOSED until 6am Wednesday, August 20th. This lane closure is necessary for crews to perform bridge deck pouring work on I 74 at Route 150 ( Jackson Street) in Morton. Also on Wednesday, August 20th Main Street in Peoria will experience full lane closures during daytime hours for the installation of lighted crosswalks. Weather permitting, construction is expected to last about one day for each location. No parking will be permitted along these streets. The following schedules for the full lane closures are: Wednesday, August 20th Main Street from Glenwood Avenue to Elmwood Avenue; Thursday, August 21st Main Street from Bourland Avenue to University Street and Friday, August 22nd,University from St. James to Moss Avenue. And just a reminder, the Rock Island Trail will be CLOSED at Allen Road in Peoria through Friday, August 22nd. The closure is necessary for tree removal related to the nearby Allen Road improvement project and in advance of a tunnel for the trail that will be installed underneath Allen Road.
