NORMAL - Illinois State University took steps Friday to pay its bills during the summer.

As the school awaits word from Springfield on its final appropriations, its board of trustees gave authorization to pay any expenses the university has from July through its next October meeting.

At that meeting, the board will officially approve the 2015 budget. ISU will still have a special meeting in June, where it will set the tuition rates for the fall semester

The trustee board approved a campus Wi-Fi upgrade and plans to revitalize the Bone Student Center.
