Nearly 6,200 students will travel to Illinois State University Aug. 4 to 17 for 2014 move-in.
Temporary traffic patterns and some street closures will be in effect Aug. 11 to 15.
North Street will be one-way east from School Street to Fell Avenue.
Fell Avenue will be one-way south from Mulberry Street to College Avenue (only move-in traffic allowed).
Fell will also be closed between College Avenue and North Street and closed for all northbound traffic.
Students will once again have assigned move-in dates and times depending on their housing assignment.
Move-in for residents of Cardinal Court, Fell Avenue and School Street apartments starts Monday, Aug. 4.
For East Campus, which includes Manchester and Hewett halls, returning students will start moving in Monday, Aug. 11 and Tuesday, Aug. 12. Approximately 60 percent of residents will move in Wednesday, Aug. 13 and Thursday, Aug. 14. The remainder of returning students will schedule move-in appointments between Friday, Aug. 15 and Sunday, Aug. 17.
“This year we have also condensed move-in times at West Campus (Wilkins, Wright and Haynie) to run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. as we have found in past years this area moves quicker than our other residence halls,” said Stacey Mwilambwe, director of University Housing. “This will allow us to shift resources to other areas for greater effectiveness.”
This year more than 400 students and staff as well as Association of Residence Halls members will serve as move-in volunteers, including 130 student athletes.
