BLOOMINGTON - For the second straight year, an Illinois Wesleyan academic team is headed to a national tournament.

The Titans' ethics bowl team had a final practice tonight before heading to Jacksonville, Fla., for the National Ethics Bowl.

While there, the team will compete in at least three different rounds. Each one features opening statements and counter arguments on court cases, presenting different ethical dilemmas.

Team members say they've figured out a system of dividing the work, which is helping them succeed.
“You kind of own those cases. You take a stance and then you take three more cases and you're secondary on those, and you just help the other person clarify their arguments, maybe say you can talk about this and I'll do this little counter point,” said IWU senior Benjamin White.

The IWU Ethics Bowl team was formed in 2011. Last year, it went to the national competition in San Antonio, Texas.
