PEORIA - A local hospital is recognizing National Doctor’s Day by helping others.

Kindred Hospital donated $1000 to South Side Mission today

The money will be used to help cover team ministry and job training programs.

This is the third straight year Kindred Hospital is making a donation to South Side Mission.

“It's one of those relationships that has grown over the years. And we have enough people that come through our doors that are recipients of services there. It's just a good match in terms of our cultures and in terms of our mission,” said Kindred Hospital CEO Ted Paarlberg.

Kindred Hospital is a long term acute care hospital which specializes in aggressive and specialized care for patients in need of a long term recovery.

South Side Mission serves some of the poorest neighborhoods in the Peoria area.

National Doctor’s Day is this Sunday.
