Kroger Central Division leaders celebrated the grand reopening of the company's store in Pekin Thursday. The total economic investment in the store was nearly 5 million dollars, according to a release from Kroger. Over the last 18 months, Kroger has invested more than $20 million in four major remodels in addition to the Pekin project, built two new fuel centers and completed several smaller capital projects across the state. During the grand reopening event, Kroger made a $1000 donation to St. Vincent DePaul food pantry, $1000 donation to the Salvation Army and $7500 to the Peoria Area Food Bank.
