A standout basketball star for Limestone High School is in custody after being arrested on drug charges over the weekend.

Eighteen-year-old Terence Shelby is facing several charges, including distributing a controlled substance, manufacturing or delivering marijuana, and attempting to flee from a police officer.

Shelby was arrested on Peoria’s East Bluff around two am Sunday after reports of shots fired and a vehicle driving away from the area at a high rate of speed.

Officers stopped a vehicle driven by Shelby.

Shelby was the leading scorer for the Limestone boys basketball team this season.
