PEORIA - A local group is trying to slow one of the fastest growing diseases in America.

The Central Illinois Alzheimer’s Association hosted it’s annual garage sale.

It hoped to raise $2,000 to help battle disease, with the money going to local Alzheimer’s prevention programs as well as research.

Organizers of the event also want people to know the location of the center, and that its doors are open for those in need.
