For different low-income housing communities in Peoria will undergo forty-million dollars in renovations.
These include Parkview Estates, Hulburt House, Reservoir Estates and Schlarman House, each owned by Ohio-based Wallick Communities.
The money comes from low-income housing tax credits, a tax exempt bond, an Illinois State Grant and a loan from the City of Peoria.
The renovations include upgrades to the kitchens and bathrooms of each of the 478 unites between the four communities.
"The work will be done between nine and five every day. And, so then while the residents are not in their apartments we have programs and activities planed for them," said Spokesperson for Wallick Communities Stephanie Tresso.
Construction on the homes will begin on May 19th.
