McLean County Board Puts Auditor Issue on Ballot

After lengthy debate, the McLean County Board Tuesday voted to let voters decide the question of eliminating the elected office of county auditor and the officeholder be appointed by the board. Some board members say the change from elected to appointed is part of streamlining government and noted an appointed auditor would be responsible to the McLean County Board.
