BLOOMINGTON - A long-time treat, synonymous with summer, is back in Bloomington.

The McLean County fair kicked off year No. 82. More than 45,000 people are expected to march through the gates, before the weekend is over.

That includes near 10,000 people from out of town. Near picture-perfect weather greeted the fair-goers for the 4H judging on Wednesday. Categories included everything from cake decorating to aerospace.

"We are a premiere 4H community, and we're just so proud to have them here and we like putting on a large commercial side of the fair, so that it can complement what they're so successful at doing,” said fair director Mike Swartz.

The McLean County fair runs through Sunday.
