MORTON – You’re never too old to learn, and after 90 years, the Morton Public Library is proving it every day.

Wednesday was the library’s 90th birthday, and to celebrate there was a party.

Balloon animals, face painting, and an oversized birthday card were just a few of the activities scheduled for the afternoon’s celebrations.

Party organizers say they wanted to thank the community for its ongoing support.

“Lifelong learning, education, a place for non-partisan discourse, for learning about issues,” is what library director Janice Sherman says the library has to offer.

Party participants got to “give the library a hug.”

People linked hands around the building and sang “Happy Birthday.”
