Samaritan Ministries International was formed in Washington back in 1994.
Friday night, it held a picnic for its twentieth birthday.
The national organization's goal is to provide an insurance alternative for members of the Christian faith.
Founder Ted Pittenger said, "We had pretty humble beginnings. I like to talk that we started at my kitchen table, or dining room table, with my kids and stuff. We've been able to help a lot of people over the years."
Samaritan Ministries International has around 120,000 members in all 50 states.
