Negative views of President Obama have hit a new high, according to a poll released Wednesday by AP GFK, which shows 59 percent of Americans disapprove of Obama while only 41 percent approve, the second lowest figure the poll has ever found, which is seen as troubling for Democrats in the upcoming mid term elections. Obama gets lowest marks for his handling of the federal budget, immigration and the economy. Support for Obama's education policies, which had been a strong point, dipped into negative territory while Obama has hit a new low on international relations, just 40 percent. Part of the problem is related to foreign policy. The poll shows Americans disapprove of his handling of the Ukraine situation 57 to 40 percent. Meantime, a new Fox News poll, released Wednesday, showed, by a widening margin, more voters think the U S is weaker since President Obama became president. The highest number in a decade feel the country is less safe than it was before 9/11. The poll also finds most voters think Obama has not been tough enough on Russia although a majority still say the U S should stay out of the situation in the Ukraine. By a 46 to 38 percent margin, voters disapprove of how the administration is handling the Ukraine situation. Overall Obama's approval rating is 40 percent while his disapproval rating is 53 percent similar to the AP GFK poll.
