We're not in Hollywood anymore.
We're in Yates City where television crews are filming 'The Lake Life,’ a family build show following Herman Brothers Lake and Land Management.
The Herman Brothers construct pretty much anything.
"If people can think up something, we usually can get it done," Plattner said. He helps run the company.
The TV crews film the construction. The idea first popped up two years ago.
"We get an email from an entertainment production company. And they said, 'hey, you guys are doing some really cool stuff. We'd love to come out and see if we can make a show about what you're doing.' and it was kind of like, uh, junk mail," Nate Herman said.
The production company was persistent, and today, they are out filming an episode about a floating dock that is also a boat with a golf green and snack bar.
Every episode focuses on a different project and the whole Herman family gets involved.
"We're a big family that all lives within a mile of each other," Plattner said.
And now they have cameras in their face. At first, it took getting used to, but now, “You know what? We're just going to be who we are and say what we're going to say and you get comfortable. You get used to it, and it's really a lot of fun," Herman said.
Great American Country and DIY channels picked up a full series of the show that will air by spring of next year.
