WASHINGTON, D.C. - Uptown Normal is gaining attention at the national level.

Normal Mayor Chris Koos flew out to the nation's capitol and spoke to U.S. Representatives in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday about the success of Uptown Station.

Koos told the congressmen it's important to think locally and innovatively, since the federal government is running out of money for new projects. He says local projects can get private donors and spend money quickly and efficiently.
