NORMAL - A Normal woman has been formally charged in a drug case after being arrested last week by the Bloomington Police Vice Unit.

Kristie Marie Hougas appeared Monday in McLean County court on a charge of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within a 1000 feet of a park and unlawful delivery. Her bond was set at $200,000. Police say Hougas was arrested following a drug buy.

The sale, according to news partner WJBC Radio, was for one tenth of a gram of heroin. WJBC says a following interview with police found the suspect was allegedly involved in ongoing heroin distribution.

Police say they may have slowed a drug operation between Peoria and McLean County. Meantime, according to court officials, Hougas has two other pending drug cases. She appears Friday on one case involving possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia and another case charging her with unlawful delivery of heroin and unlawful possession with intent to deliver. She also has a bond review hearing July 18.
