Peoria's District 150 is looking in its own backyard for a cash infusion.
The old Washington School on Moss Avenue is on the chopping block.
District 150 and the City of Peoria held a meeting at Westminster Presbyterian Church so neighbors and the public could weigh in on the matter.
The building, closed since 2011 has been up for sale before and both entities say no deal has been reached.
Chuck Grayeb, 2nd District Councilman says they want to put the concerns of the neighborhood on the top of their lists.
“We wanted to be sure whatever is there complements the neighborhood, is a good fit for the neighborhood, and I think the board of education has the same concern.”
The city thinks the proposed sale could raise up to $150,000.
