Five suspects were in Tazewell County court Friday after their arrests as part of Operation Copperhead. Police say deputies executed a search warrant at 339 Matheny in rural East Peoria to help the State Police Swat Team. Information received during an ongoing meth investigation, led police to East Peoria where an alleged meth lab was discovered and dismantled by police. Police recovered meth, as well as pseudoephedrine and other meth making materials. Charged Friday were Jason Begeman, 32 of Pekin on unlawful participation in meth manufacturing and bond set at $100,000; James A. Webb, 48 of East Peoria charged with unlawful participation in meth manufacturing and bond set at $100,000; Bryan A. McCoy (29) of East Peoria are possession of meth precursor; Michael J. Pryor of East Peoria on possession of meth precursor; and Erik Freeman (35) of Pekin on possession of meth precursor.
