This is the 26th year for the Budweiser Illinois Blues Festival.
Seventeen different groups are performing today on the Peoria Riverfront.
Six local bands are also competing for a chance to play at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
Peoria has a rich history of blues, which makes this a popular festival for fans across the country.
Promoter Jay Goldberg said, "Peoria has the amazing history of the blues, beginning all the way back in the early days, when the blues masters would hop on the ferry boats from Chicago and go down to St. Louis, on to New Orleans. They would always stop right here in Peoria.>>
