PEORIA - Hopefully the snow is long gone, but the City of Peoria is still thinking winter weather.

The council approved buying about two years worth of rock salt at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.

They had to move around 240 thousand dollars from other operating accounts to pay for the purchase.

The city used a lot more salt than anticipated after the harsh winter.

There was some concern moving the money would take away from patching potholes in the city.

But the public works director says there's still plenty of money for that, too.
