For the first time since the mass transit district was established in 1970, Peoria's CityLink will be offering bus service on Sundays, starting June 8th. The GPMTD Board Monday night approved the first ever Sunday service which will run nine routes in Peoria. The first bus on Sunday will leave the transit center at 8:15am with the last bus leaving the center at 7:30pm. The buses will run every hour and 15 minutes. Sunday service will NOT include bus service into Pekin or East Peoria. CityLink currently provides Saturday bus service in East Peoria but not in Pekin. With the addition of the new Sunday fixed route service, CityLink also will be able to offer on demand paratransit service through CityLift beginning June 8th. CityLink officials say the cost for the new Sunday fixed route and paratransit service is estimated to be about $1.6 million.
