Average retail gas prices in Peoria fell 3.1 cents per gallon in the past week, according to information released Monday by GasBuddy.com. Prices were 2.1 cents per gallon lower than a year ago while 2.7 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says while concerns in Iraq have led to higher prices in many areas , a new concern has come to light, DeHaan says, a possible hike in the federal gasoline tax.
