A Peoria house fire which occurred late Tuesday afternoon remained under investigation Tuesday night. According to a fire department release, the blaze broke out at 1526 N. North Street. When first units arrived, there was heavy fire coming from a first floor bedroom window. Firemen made quick work of knocking down the flames but there was heat and smoke damage to a majority of the first floor. Everyone escaped the fire but the Red Cross was notified to help the occupants with lodging. Damage is estimated at $20,000 and twenty firemen responded to the fire call. No one was hurt.
