PEORIA - The Peoria Zoo is putting its own unique twist on Mother's Day.
For today only, mothers paid the children's admission price.
Hundreds turned out to see the wildlife.
The Zoo Director says the warm weather makes the zoo a big draw.
"We've had such an extended winter that sometimes this is their first visit of the year. even if they are members, they are just starting to think about us because we're nice and warm" explains Yvonne Strode.
The Zoo is hoping to have a few more mothers soon.
The giraffe and lion exhibits are expected to be a little more crowded in the next couple months.
