WASHINGTON – Tornado victims get a special opportunity to preserve special memories that may have been ruined in the storm.
Washington and Fondulac Libraries are coming together to help those memories last.
They’re working with a group called Operation Photo Rescue.
Starting Friday, any disaster victim can bring in photos.
The library will digitize those photos and send up to 20 of them to Operation Photo Rescue to be restored.
“It’s wonderful for a person like me, and there’s many out the like us who totally lost their homes,” says tornado victim Diana Wara. “Finding a picture out of all that rubble was just amazing, so this is one of those pictures.”
Washington Library will host the digitization Saturday, February 22nd from 10 A.M.-4 P.M.
The same program will be held at Fondulac Library February 28th and March 1st.
