PONTIAC - Pontiac District 429 has added another long-time educator to its fold.

The district has worked without a full-time superintendent since Kevin Lipke took a leave of absence in November and resigned in February.
Jim Davis took over on an interim basis, and will continue to serve this year. But since Davis is retired, by law, he cannot work more than 100 days.

So, the board added former Dwight superintendent Dale Adams to help lead.

“I think it'll work fine, and we have a pretty strong list of activities that we want to think about and implement next year.
So, it's not going to be a year of just trying to get by. We actually have a series of things that we're going to accomplish over the year,” said Davis.

Davis says the district will start searching for candidates again in the fall. He says ideally, they would like to have a new superintendent in place by the spring to take over next summer.
