PEORIA - The endless freeze and thaw cycle we’re experiencing this winter is tearing up the streets in central Illinois.
The city of Peoria is seeing a huge spike in pothole claims.
From January 1 to February 7, there have been 125 claims.
From 2007 to 2013, the average number of claims per year was 38.
Since 2007, the city has paid on 22 claims, costing more than $7,000.
