PEORIA - High school basketball players are used to competing in front of friends and family, but what about the governor?

Governor Pat Quinn showed up to the Illinois High School Association's state championship basketball game Saturday night. At halftime of the 4A championship game he handed trophies to third and fourth place teams from Stevenson and Edwardsville. This is the sixth straight year Quinn has made his way down to the river city for the game.

"The original March Madness, our high school basketball. Peoria does such a great job of hosting this tournament. I come down every year. It really is special for everyone in Illinois to enjoy the best high school basketball in America,” he said.
