The Central Illinois Herpetological Society hosted their annual Reptile and Amphibian Fair.
Kids and adults checked out everything from turtles to an eight foot boa constrictor.
The group holds this annual event to show people that most of these creatures that live in Central Illinois are generally safe.
Mike Shelton of the Central Illinois Herpetological Society said, "It's just the reason why we do that, is to explain to the public that not all of them are poisonous are around here; not all of them are going to hurt you. If you see a snake in your yard in Peoria, it's not a rattle snake."
The money raised at this weekend's fair goes to the society's education and conservation efforts.
