BLOOMINGTON - McLean County authorities are continuing their third full day of searching for a missing Bloomington man.

Fifty-nine year old Daniel Gaines was last seen at his home on Bloomington’s west side around lunch time on Monday.

On Thursday, rescue crews were still sorting through tips to narrow down the area where Gaines last was seen.

Callers say they may have seen Gaines near Highway 9 and by Adelaide and Hovey, at around 2 p.m. Monday. Rescuers are concerned that Gaines, a diabetic, may have gone this long without insulin. Officials say aerial searching is still not a possibility because the search area is still massive.

"We've checked all the main roads, uh, ditches, and we're hoping that the public will call in with some information, giving us a, a general area where we was last seen so we can focus our search more,” said Lt. Jon Sandage of the McLean County Sheriff’s Department.

Sandage says people should also be on the lookout for an abandoned grey Mongoose bicycle, with blue lettering. Gaines stands six foot-three and weighs about two hundred pounds.

Anyone with information can call the McLean County Sheriff's Department at 309-888-5019.
