PEORIA - More than 200 runners pounded the pavement for the 15th annual Inter-Planetary 5k and fitness walk.

The race follows the Peoria riverfront and the path of the solar system. The start or "sun" was the Riverfront Museum's planetarium. Runners passed all eight planets in their orbit and finished back at the museum.

Vice President of Programs, Anne Schmitt said the race is a great way to stay healthy and interested in science.

"They are supporting the museum and supporting the idea of getting fit with your family and just having a great time."

The race also helps raise money for the museum.
