The Peoria man, accused of kidnapping and killing his wife last fall in Tazewell County wants to withdraw his guilty plea.
In April Phuvone Sophanavong pled guilty to murdering his estranged wife and was sentenced to 55 years in prison.
Authorities say she was kidnapped as she arrived at work in Pekin.
She was later found shot to death in her car in the OSF parking deck.
The killing happened a month after she had left him.
His effort to change his plea will be investigated before the Tazewell County Judge decides if it will be accepted.
